I have been reading and meditating. To be honest I haven’t cast a circle in quite a while, it just seems silly just for myself. I have a strong heart connection with the Goddess Aradia. I mean don’t get me wrong I do work with the God also but I grew up in a very patriarchal Christian tradition and as a lgbtq it kind of turned me off. I am much better now. I love to write poetry. It has always felt like a calling for me to write a book on my journey. Time will tell. I would appreciate hearing from all of you. Blessed Be!!!
Fortunately, it hasn't really hit here in Japan very hard. The culture here is very obsessive about cleanliness and physical contact is not a normal thing. As a result, most are not in isolation except for large scale venues and public places like museums, libraries, and the like. So other than having a few less things to do, we aren't in the kind of isolation that most are in.
That's incredibly interesting. It's amazed me how different cultures and countries are handling (or not handling) the situation. Best wishes to you, Eric!
I have been cleaning my apartment and getting back into a daily grounding which I had kind of let get out of my routine. I've also been loving audiobooks lately. Some of them just feel like listening to a lecture and I can just jot down notes as I listen which has been really nice.
I have taken this opportunity to re-read some titles. Right now I am reading The Pickingill Papers, it has been a very long time since my hands have touched this book. I'm also reading some new titles from Scarlet Imprint, Troy Books and Weird Walk. Great collection of reads!
Thats not all, like amhanson my eyes are keeping a close watch on my Mandrakes. They are now 4 inches in height, and doing well. Very finicky and hard to grow, but worth it Witches!
Those all sound wonderful; I'll have to look into getting some copies for myself! I think it's wonderful that we're taking the time to look after ourselves, as well as our plants. It's so important to stay in touch with nature during these times. Take care, big hugs, stay safe 🖤 Ellen
Walking to the lake every day (five minutes), making friends with the swans and geese, and picking up trash. Yesterday, I found some good-sized bones! It’s my new outdoor haven, and no one knows about it but me. I’m also doing more cemetery photography. I simply adore the peacefulness of walking amongst the tombstones; it reminds me to cherish every day.
Swans and geese are the best of friends to have! I'm very envious; it sounds as though you've got this isolation thing down to a T.
A very important message there too, we must not let such depressing times bring us down! Cherish the little things in each day. Lots of love and blessings to you. Remember I'm only an email/phone call away if you need me 🖤 Ellen xox
@Witches Magazine I’m a solitary forest nerd hermit anyway, so this lifestyle is fine by me! Thank you, darling. Perspective Is everything. I feel at peace. I am here for you, as well as anyone else who would like to talk. Where is it written that life is easy? Nowhere. 💕
I've just been pottering about the garden too, hanging fairy lights and potting some herbs which were off cuttings from my kitchen garden. I've been isolating with my family since Tues last week, so I have also been doing a lot of cooking and baking, so that my fresh food doesn't go to waste!
These days are going to be long so I can't wait till the spring issue of Witches, to be released. 😁 How is everyone else coping so far?
That all sounds so wonderful. I've become lazy when it comes to eating - snacking and not taking the time to be creative in the kitchen. This definitely needs to change! I can't wait to share the Spring edition with you. It's got some gorgeous features in it 🖤 Stay safe, lots of love & hugs.
Pruning my mint and other garden flowers as spring is around us and coming into full bloom. My outdoor altar is coming along nicely for our full moon. :)
That sounds absolutely wonderful! Unfortunately, I haven't got a garden, but I do have a little balcony overlooking a very open and breezy river. Any suggestions for hardy plants would be more than welcome 🖤 Stay safe, love & hugs x
Hi Ellen
I got married during lockdown (to a chap 10 years my junior lol) and bought a boat.
