Hey Witches!
I hope you've had an amazing weekend celebrating Litha and the summer solstice. What did you get up to? Let me know in the comments.
While I'm running with the summer theme, I thought it would be good to talk about sun magic this week.
The sun is a very powerful element and it is easy to harness its magical properties. Have a read of my ideas below!
Sunsets and Rises
Sunsets and sunrises are just incredible to see. They can lift your mood and help you to focus your mind. It's also fun to get up super early to head out and chase a sunrise. Sunrises, for me, are truly magical and breathtaking. I like to take a blanket and sit in the back of my car, taking in the beautiful surroundings whether it's on a beach or on the moors.
Sun water
Recycle an old jar and make some sun water. Fill a glass jar with some water and leave it out in the sun for a couple of hours. It will absorb energy from the sun. Bring it inside before the moon comes out. You can use sun water to cleanse a space or charge tools. Sun water is also great to use in rituals, especially if you need help to grow an intention.
Happiness Bath Ritual
My favourite magic is a good old bath ritual.
Run a warm bath to cool your sun soaked skin, add some sun water and any herbs you feel drawn to. I like to use lavender, as it's got such a relaxing scent. I also like to add orange slices, coconut water and flower petals; I use old rose petals from my garden. When you are in the bath, feel all the elements soak into your skin and clear your mind. Focus on all the things that currently make you happy. Then, start to think about the things you want to achieve over the next couple months. When you're ready, get out of the bath and as the water trickles down the drain, visualise all the things holding you back from what will make you happy also disappearing down the drain.
Grow Sunflowers
Sunflowers are easy to grow. The bright yellow of their petals encapsulates the spirit of summer. There are lots of different ways you can use sunflowers in witchcraft, such as changing out negative energy for positive energy, healing spells, embracing courage and friendship spells.
Let me @luna_wytches and Ellen @witchesmagazine know how you harness the positive energy of the sun, and how you got on with this bath ritual. We love to know what you're getting up to!
